More Jobs Lost

I was told by a contact working in Agilent Technologies that her company is planning to cut 2,700 jobs. Her whole department is affected.

US job data is equally gloomy. 2.7 million jobs have been lost since Jan 2009. I support the call by various bodies to start a retrenchment fund for Malaysians retrenched.

The government must act fact. How effective is the RM60 billion stimulus (for two years) in supporting employment?

The jobless situation in Johor Baru worse, mainly its reliance on the electronics industries. So for, very little attention there.

I do not think CIMB is in desparate situation. In fact I admire them because tehy admit there are excess fat and is willing to take actions to trim the excess fat. This is what mgnt. But I do not understand what took them so long to realise that actions are needed.

Realising and taking actions is better than keeping a blind eye to the problem.
